"Meet me in the middle of your story when the soul is worn but wise" (Angie Weiland-Crosby)
This blog is a long time in the making. Ever since I was in Junior High looking out the window during English class (which I wasn't doing well in) I yearned to write, to get out what was on my inside. At that time in my life I can see why. I was 12 years old and had already experienced a fire in our house, a kidnapping, divorce, loss of our home, loss of a job and financially living on a prayer. Of course as I have grown I know these experiences are the ones that have given me strength, empathy, compassion, resiliency, and hope.
Truth be told I've always wanted to write a book but I've spent most of my life putting that idea out of my head. Up until the last 1-2 years of my life I thought, what "right" do I have to share my thoughts, who wants to hear what's on my inside; what I think, what my experiences have been, what I'm learning and growing into. But now I've come to slowly realize, a lot of people do! Just like I want to hear what your experiences are, what you think, what do you wonder about, what are you mulling over and growing in this life with.
Touching the Universe is a platform to discuss EVERYTHING, to touch on all that lies within The Universe. Spiritual places and spaces (inside and out), soulful questions and treatments, ideas, questions, and physical places in our world that get us in tune WITH the Universe, which is ourselves.
I love the above quote because that is where I feel I am right now in my life "in the middle....worn but wise". At the age of 46 my soul has endured a lot, just as all of yours. I have had love, sorrow, loss, abuse, shame, guilt, regret, excitement, achievements, peace, growth... all of it - and I know there is so much more to come, thankfully and prayerfully.
Whether one person, 100, or 1,000 people read this blog, I am honestly coming from a place in my life where I trust 1000% in the guidance and support I have from the Universe (God, Brahman, Gaia, the One, the Collective) which has led me here.
I look forward to sharing with you.
With love and respect ~Katie
